The way we produce and use energy has a significant impact on our
environment and public health, and for too long the debate has been
dominated by big energy companies and the coal, oil, gas and nuclear
industry.
From the air and water pollution caused by coal-fired
power plants, to the toxic waste created by nuclear power plants, to
the excess pollution created by wasted energy, it is obvious that we
need cleaner energy solutions.
Environment Rhode Island is
working for progress by advocating for solutions across Rhode Island
and in Washington, D.C., that will create a new energy future for Rhode
Island—one that looks first to clean energy sources like renewable
energy and energy efficiency to meet our energy needs.
